G'day Readyman,

According to an AMG tech I was talking too, its to reduce noise from the induction pulses flexing the aircleaner.
(why they would pick this over the several thousand other sources of noise amazes me  )

Would probably stop the aluminium can fatiguing and cracking if the extra strap stops it flexing as well.

Ah! Now there's a PM fix for that problem!
Don't you read your PS Magazine Travis?

The Army has authorised all operators (which includes us I guess :D ) to reverse the clamps and tuck the sharp pointy ends in behind the lower splash shield (where the duck bill thingy lives).
