fording vent line system

Post by northern lights » Fri Oct 24, 2008 5:27 am

Wondering if anybody would have a good clear drawing of what direction the vent line's go, from the fording valve and to the fording valve?

I have gone through every pdf manual I have and can't come up with a fording valve.
I have pdf manuals to include parts manuals for the new trucks.
I am thinking you are asking this.
Where they go.
The front differential and the rear differential vent to the intake air filter I believe.
The transfer vents to the intake air filter I believe.
The fuel tank vents seperately and goes behind the surge tank to a filter. It is a filter that is poorly adapted for the purpose at hand. It is an inline fuel filter in original design that if you cut it apart shows you a screen filter for fuel. I strongly suggest remounting inside the cab because the front tire kicks up dust right into this inline filter.

I believe you meant selector valve. This is what I came up with.

I do have that manual also TM 9-2320-280-20-3 has a small section on Deep water fording kit maintenance kit
But i guess what i am after is the instuction manual or illistration from a fording kit of were and witch way these hoses go?

I have the full installation instructions from my kit.
But they are on large fold out sheets and as such, not easily postable.
I could scanand post certain bits of the instructions if you are specific on what you need.

Cheers

A good fix for the fuel tank vent is an aquarium bubbler airstone. It will let the system breath but won't allow dirt of fluids to enter the system.

For all those that want a copy of the Deep Fording Kit installation instructions I sent the whole 29 pages to Bob Bish on the HML and they are hosted in the knowledge information database under "fording".
They are available in a variety of formats.
got to www.humvee.net
