How would you like to have a rock lift up and snap your steering shaft while offroading? Better hope the brakes still work!

Looks like the standard UG type kit. Nothing wrong with that steering set-up as long as the tire does not rub under full articulation. I built a decent UG kit back in college and beat the crap out of it with no problems using 39 to 44" tires and a standard GM steering gearbox (Dana 60's).

Am I missing something in the pic? My Jeep buggy is set up very similar but has an auxiliary hydro-assist steering loop.

I originally was looking at a kit Hummer until I realized that I could have a real one for the same amount of cash.

Yeah-definitely different times now...I built mine in 1995/96 and there were no $20k trucks available. Financially it does not make sense now.
