Not wishing to make things easy for myself, I am fitting my M1026 out as Raf Regt as they used them at Greenham Common for nuclear missile escorts in the 80's and in Iraq currently.
My problem now is that I am using the HMMWV radio power feed to feed into a Clansman (british) intercom/radio control network.
This works fine apart from alternator noise, which even my local car radio specialists can't solve.
I don't think the odd equipment I am using is the cause of the problem, so does anyone have any experience of suppressing radio intererence on a HMMWV?
Thanks in advance
Warwick

Radio noise
Does the noise your hearing increase and decrease with engine speed? If it does then it's coming from the alternator.
The fact that you're using a Clansman radio shouldn't make any difference as I've seen foreign made radios in HMMWVs before.
There are a lot of radio noise surpressors out there, Radio Shack has some and almost any good radio shop should be able to supply one for you. Just let them know it's for a 24 volt system.
Do a Google search under "radio noise surpression" there's a wealth of info online including sources for equipment.

Suppression
Thanks for the tips, It's in a specialist shop right now, still no solution they think it could be that the alternator is worn and sparking, so that's the next avenue of enquiry

Also make sure that everything (antenna base, transceiver, etc etc) is earthed individually back to a common point.
Humvee's are notorious for poor grounding and conductivity between the body panels and body to chassis.
Also make sure you have fitted the auxilary grounding harness's which connects the engine, PCB, body and chassis all together.
