Soft top

Post by mark m uk » Mon Jun 02, 2008 9:57 am

Hi, helpful hummer guys.

I have another completly dumb question.

What attaches the front of the soft top to the windshield frame ?

I have a 1026 frame and a regular soft top, I guess there must be another bit that bolts/rivets on the frame in place of the hardtop rubber seal....perhaps ?

regards Mark.

Mark,

There is a channel that runs across the top of the soft top windshield frame that the bead on the leading edge of the soft top slides through. The 1026 windshield frame will not have this attached as it was meant to be a hardtop only.

Yes-its very similar to how Jeeps attach their soft tops as well.

I have an extra soft top rail if you need one.

I wonder how much shipping to the UK would be on a 7 foot long box?

Thanks Larry, I figured it would be something along those lines, thanks for the confirmation, Appreciate it.

Action,.......Great stuff, PM on its way, check your mail please.

Jason, your dead right, I am being real careful on shipping. I am guessing that the part is quite light, and if steel can be cut once, or even twice and gas welded back together this side of the pond.

Thank to you all, Regards Mark.

Cut in half would be fine...there are enough screws to hold the rail in place. Shipping would be about $20-30 depending on final weight-I am guessing a few pounds.

Size Limits (216.5)

An item must be large enough to hold on its face the postage

9.5 inches long, and the plastic pouch that carries it is
approximately 7 inches high and 12 inches long.

Maximum length: 46 inches
Maximum width: 35 inches
Maximum height: 46 inches
Maximum length and girth combined: 108 inches
