How to read the hmmwv bumper

Post by 001666100 » Wed Sep 13, 2017 9:41 am

Hello. I have a 1991 hmmwv. I was hoping someone could tell me alittle more about the stencil markings on the front and back of the hmmwv. It's a green hmmwv that had tan over rectangles over the front and back on the left and right sides. It had black stencils on the front passenger side reading "120 IN 3-382 " and on the driver side "224" and the rear it those 2 stenciled on the opposite sides. One can anyone tell me by this if it was army or marine corps? And how to read it or what it those stand for. Also would that be the correct way to display those stencils, green truck with tan rectangles and black lettering. Thank you

224 is probably just the vehicle number

Be sure to expand the unit hierarchy. Gives you more great information.

What is that link you sent? It just comes up with a blank page and asking to invite people. Not sure what it is. Yes and thank you for the correction on the typo

Got the same thing when I opened from my phone. Try the link from a computer. Lots of good info there.

It's a site called rally point. Of the link doesn't work, go there and out in your numbers. It'll be worth it.
