Welcome to the Military Vehicle Collectors of California

Post by Kurt Lesser » Sat Dec 13, 2014 2:57 pm

The Military Vehicle Collectors of California is the largest U.S. affiliate of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association. Located in Northern California we welcome members worldwide to join us in the hobby of collecting and preserving the history of military vehicles. Ownership of a military vehicle or residence in California is not required for membership and we welcome anyone with an interest in military history. The MVCC holds 2 major events annually where hundreds, even thousands of enthusiasts join to swap vehicle knowledge, parts, and have a lot of fun. Our events are typically held the third full week of the months of April and September (the sites and dates may change). Because we encompass such a large part of the state there are numerous local meets, public displays, and parades for our members to enjoy.

For more information about the MVCC please visit our website at
http://WWW.MVCCNEWS.NET. The latest club information and data can be found there including a downloadable membership application, event news, and archived event pictures. Our mailing address is: MVCC Treasurer, 850 Elm Avenue, Gustine, Ca 95322.

As Moderator I will re-lock this thread after this so it doesn't become a conversation, but I want to mention that as of early 2023 the MVCC has members in 22 states and one other country! I was surprised to hear that because we are a regional club. There are several reasons. Our 45 year old Spring MV show and swap meet, since 2019 in Plymouth, CA, has been the largest annual MV event west of the Mississippi since the late 1970s. Being a very vendor friendly swap meet and casual MV show, it has been attracting buyers and sellers, pro and amateur, from many states and several foreign countries. The free visitor admission is designed to encourage new hobbyists. Some join our club because they want to support these meets and the very non-profit promoter!

Another reason is we have a very nice, printed and mailed monthly newsletter of 28 pages, and a color online version. It is oriented to North-Central California activities but also contains general info interesting to anybody. It contains insider Camp Plymouth information that might not get onto our Facebook pages, forums, or other social media. For many, the large for sale and want ad section is important. Our members can advertise items for no charge.
