Hi Zepher
I will take a look for you this afternoon
You have what ii always considered an early manifold. for the T207 and T211s
From what i have seen, by the T215s they used a similar manifold to the T214s which did not had such a high riser

Thanks. This is off of a T215 that I picked up (It's damaged). I was thinking it was original to that engine, but a lot of things happen over the years. Would the plate on the manifold pictured above, that sits under the carburetor, be mounted on the T214 low rise intake manifolds for the half-tons?

my original, never rebuilt T-215 engine had the taller intake on it like the earlier T-207/T-211 series

There are at least 6 or 7 engines here with at least 2 or 3 that appear to have the higher square configuration. You know you want to come by and shop again, so call me.

I believe those spacer plates were used to decrease the chance of vapor lock. My IND-7(237) had that plate on the intake manifold also. I decided not to use it. My 230 which came with the truck was not the original T-211 motor, but a postwar factory replacement one installed in 1957. It did not have the spacer plate on the manifold. In the 27 years that I had that motor in the truck, I never had a problem with vapor lock. For an original restoration, I can see why one would want that spacer plate. I just don’t think it makes very much difference one way or the other as far as preventing vapor lock is concerned.

Re: WTB Half-Ton Dodge WC Intake Manifold
Went to the engine shop today. The T215 engine I that found for my Dodge WC26 project (this manifold is from that engine) has a cracked block and a cracked head. Not sure if it is worth it or how reliable it would be to fix them if that is possible. May end up using the T310.
These military engines sure don't hold up. Everyone I find has issues. Well, it only cost me $500 and a 12 hour drive.

Zepher11,
That’s too bad about the T-215 motor. How bad do you want the vehicle to have an original numbered motor? I have heard said that it is possible to repair a block depending on where the crack is. As far as the head, Perhaps you can find another 870066 head. I have a 952084 head lying around here. It was on a 218 block that was trashed. That numbered head was used on car and truck motors. I would imagine the reason most of the military motors are all beat up is due to the way they were maintained and also used. They swapped out the original T-211 motor in my WC in 1957. They had written in pencil on the door pillar “New motor 1957”. Guess it must have been really trashed since they installed a factory replacement motor in it.

Re: WTB Half-Ton Dodge WC Intake Manifold
The T215 head has a 3" crack on the top. It runs from the edge to about the center of the head. In the photo of the 1676337 head above, it would from the edge of the head to the center. It is located between the right of the blue dial mark, near the center, toward the spark plug hole. Probably could be fixed. I don't know.
The block itself has a crack about a half inch below the deck and runs parallel to the deck for about 5 inches. Right where a head bolt inserts in the middle of the crack length. Not sure that could be fixed or not.
A little more pep form the 1676337 head wouldn't hurt that's for sure. I do have the T310 engine that is in the WC26 now that runs...barely. Has some valve issues. I could use that as well.
Thanks for the tip!

Yes, I would enjoy another visit. May have to pencil in a day soon to do so. In the meantime, I need to determine what else is on my shopping list.napavalleyartillery wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 9:49 amJohn:
