@USAFpj
I have sent a private message to you but I think the message did not arrive completely, so I try to send it here again:
My WC52 was bought by some guy in 1979 / 80 from the Austrian Army in an auction. I have bought it from him 1988 and are in possesion of it since.
The vehicle is still in the same condition as it was at the aucton - so the modifications on it may have been carried out by the Austrian Army.
If that canvas cab top is an original or a modification by the Austrian Army is not yet known by me.
As far as I have been told by Juan15, a member of the ww2dodgte.com Forum, my Dodge is assembled out of three vehicles:
Chassis (Frame) - built 05.1943, engine: - built 07.1942, Body - built 11.1944
I have the Impression, that this vehicle has been used for various purposes:
1: as a gun carrier (as it has that hole in the r.s.front to store the gun barrel?
2: as a troup transporter, as it has those cuts in the load platform to Mount Austrian troup seats (troups sit back to back in the middle of the load platform and not on the fenders).
In my Dodge I found that "refurbishment tag", shown in one of the uploaded pictures, it shows the chassis number 816 855 40 - this my have been the vehicle the body was originally mounted on.
My Dodge has the Chassis number 816 439 36 and the above body is mounted on itsince it was auctioned by the Army.

I will take some pics of the canvas cab Frame, it is very simple, just some pipes which can be dis-assembled and pulled out. As the Dodge is not at my place it will take some time, meanwhile I try to send an inner view.
The Frame are three pipes, two up and one across.

Hi
My dodge has the exact same modifications
Mine came back from West Germany, it was set up as a recoiless gun platform.
Does your brake pedal have a lock on it?

Thank you, Henry! I wanted a canvas cover, but not really the original right now. I really love your WC, and think that your 'summer top' fits the profile nicely! Thank you for the images and explanation as well.

@Ernie Baals
Very interesting, I thought that the Austrian Army has made the modifications on my truck - but maybe it has been the "Waiblingen Ordnance Shop", mentioned in the data plate in the pict above.
No, my brake pedal has no lock, but may have been removed by somebody, the winch lever is bent down and there are some other modifications on my Dodge.
Do you have any information on details what specifically these trucks have been used for?
Here some more pics of modifications on my truck:
Rgds, Henry.

Re: Canvas cab top of my WC52
I have the same windshield hook and winch lever
As i said, my truck had a recoiless rifle mount in the bed, i believe it was a 106mm
Very cool to find a similar truck

@Ernie Baals!
Hello Ernie!
Could you send a pic of your brake pedal lock? May be I find some remains on mine.
Rgds,
Henry.
