Is the fitting indicated by the yellow number 2 the water jacket drain cock?

Yes. Number 2 is the block water drain where the petcock valve is installed.

And most MV's used a Weatherhead No. 145 as the OEM Drain Cock. It's been available since the 20's.

The Weatherhead 145 Part No. appears in a lot of SNL's, Eaton now makes Weatherhead product line, and the "WH Logo is now deleted. I don't remember using any other brand over the past 60 years.

Re: T214 Water Jacket Drain Plug
I screwed a brass nipple and valve with a handle on it to make it easier to drain the antifreeze. The valve also had male threads on the dump side, so as a precaution, I screwed a cap on the end of that. I have done the same thing with the oil filter canister drain. Yes, not original but very convienent with hardly a drop of anti-freeze or oil on the ground when draining the fluids.

Re: T214 Water Jacket Drain Plug
I was thinking about that earlier. It would be nice to have a small length of 1/4 pipe on the end pointing down so you could catch the fluid rather than draining it onto the block.
