WTB T-207 block

Post by R6T8net » Mon Dec 04, 2017 5:40 am

Well, the machine shop did a number on my WC block and I’m therefore in need of another. Anyone have a useable T-207 block that you are willing to part with? I’m sure what I have could be fixed with effort but it doesn’t make sense since it’s not correct anyways (D19). Thanks.

I wish i could help other than to call vpw and speak with steve or jens. I think they always have a few on hand.

can you share with us some pics and what happened? i am about to send out my block and perhaps you experience could help me and others in a similar situation. batmobile is going to be working on his engine any day also.

Make sure they remember to and/or properly install the wrist pin keepers. I have not pulled the motor down any further than the head so I’m not sure exactly what they did but since the scores are in line with the wrist pins I’m fairly sure of what I’ll find. This score is deep and there are marks in every hole to the tune of nearly 45% leakdown on some cylinders.

Wow, that's some tragic damage to the cylinders. I will watch for that in my rebuild. Best of luck.

T-219 or do you mean a 218CI engine?
Where's 219 fit in, serial number or Cubic Inch designation? (I'm just curious here...) I looked at VPW site yesterday so I could check the two engines I have, neither are early from memory, but I'm truly curious about a T-219, as VPW lists the following:

T-207 1/2T WC1-WC11 218CI
T-211 1/2T WC12-WC20 218CI
T-214 3/4T WC51-WC64 230CI (not incl WC62-63)
T-215 1/2T WC21-WC 43 230CI(?)
T-223 1-1/2T WC62-WC63 230CI

T-137 Civy PW
45-60 had 230CI
61-71 had 251CI

M37 had 230CI (no T listing shown)
Canadian M37's a 251CI (no T listing shown)

I'm not certain on what the differences in each engine would be, thinking any 218CI should be identical, but then the prefix was changed for some unknown reason. T-207 and T-211 should be identical, just like T-214, T215, T-223 should interchange, but I cannot say this as fact without looking in the PW interchange manual that was published.

Send it to Abrahams Automotive Machine Shop; the best in the world, and yes, they do work for customers all over the world. Some people have money to ship iron that far when they want top quality work done. (I do not work for them)

The engine tag says "for parts specify model 219"
yeah its confusing. note there's no serial number on the block that indicates what it is. All I know is I found it in a WC3

Its a replacement block I have one of those also rondo. It should be 218 not 219 referring to the cubic inches of the motor

Cant those damaged cylinders be sleeved?

I second the Abraham’s Machine Services referral. They are located in Davenport, IA. I made an 8 hour round trip drive to drop off one of my MB motors with them. I’ll be making the same trip soon to pick up that motor (and probably drop off a GPW block)...from what they’ve been able to do with my badly cracked MB block, the road time is well worth it. They are first rate and very, very skillful with these old blocks!
