Help ID'ing Dodge Engine and Frame

Post by sgfan » Wed Nov 15, 2017 3:24 pm

Hello,
I'm considering buying a Dodge WC-56. I've been searching but having no luck identifying the engine. I'm pretty sure the frame is 1942. I'm a newbie at this so any assistance would be a great help.

It has the frame number:

81574923

Engine block appears to have US.24 - 9829 Stamped on left side

Frame number indicates 1942 build.

Engine possibly a D24 post-war Dodge car engine?

Thanks for the reply DodgeMan. That might be the case. I couldn't find any reference to engines coded with 'US' as the first two letters, but My source is the T137 site.
