WC-21 engine removal
Hi guys, a friend of mine is pulling his motor for a rebuild and he asked me to find out a few questions. Can they just disconnect the motor from the gear box and lift it straight out, they have removed everything bolted on the motor.

Re: WC-21 engine removal
I think the manual indicates that the front sheet metal be removed to remove the engine. Remember that that engine will need to move forward a bit to separate from the transmission. The bell housing won't detach from the engine until at which time the flywheel has been removed. It's kind of a chicken and an egg thing. If they have access to a TM manual, it will explain the process for engine removal.mulezilla wrote:Hi guys, a friend of mine is pulling his motor for a rebuild and he asked me to find out a few questions. In a short answer. no you cannot just pull the motor
The bell housing has ears on the side which are the rear motor mounts. Nothing holds up the transmission, but the motor.
To remove the bell housing, you have to remove the flywheel.
Pull the floor boards out, and take off the front clip, and you also have to disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder as that is bolted to the bell housing
