TRUCK IS SOLD AND AT ITS NEW HOME IN TEXAS
Started with a very clean truck with only 2800 miles on odometer...no rust issues
Good points:
-Titled and insured and registered (Oklahoma)
-Excellent running engine with no smoke or knocks, holding 30+ lbs oil pressure when fully warmed.
- Original 24 volt system in place
-Much of the removable sheet metal was sandblasted and repainted.
(Front end, fenders, hood, grill, top bows , troop seats, tailgate, rear fenders, etc)
-Under bed tool box area SOLID with no rust thru...always a place to look for extended rust. None here.
Cab, floors, cowl, pillars, doors, all solid.
-tailgate is exceptionally nice. Very straight and clean
- front fenders NEVER has any rust thru, like you see on a lot of trucks for sale. No rust UNDER the headlight buckets. NONE present.. never was.
- bed sides straight and clean
-100% complete brake job including ALL new wheel cylinders, armored brake lines, flex hoses, master cylinder, etc.
-Complete end to end new fuel system, including a relined gas tank, sending unit, stainless steel pickup in tank filter and tube, all new fuel and vent lines to the NOS fuel pump, and onto the NOS carburetor
- BRAND new waterproof ignition cables and spark plugs and condenser and Pertronix ignition
-All of the usual missing hard to find parts were purchased , sand blasted and installed, including proper swivel pintle hook, door mounted spare tire holder, with new spare tire, proper NOS spinner, troop seat brackets ,etc.
-brand new canvas top, new canvas seat covers, proper and complete cab cover metal frame work
- all new rubber weather stripping around the windshield frame to cowl, along with around each push out window. new rubber front fender to cowl stripping as well as rear fender to body stripping..
(Have all of the cab and door weather stripping, but not installed yet)
- Transmission, clutch, and transfer all work well
- radiator clean and no issues- temps hold at 160 no matter what outside temp is.
- Drives well, shift well and plenty of power. No shimmy or front end shakes whatsoever.
- lock out hubs.
The bad:
- noticing slight weeping at the water pump recently.
- I cracked one of the front glass panes.. Somehow... Cheap to replace.
- Bed was used well in its past, showing it on the floor, with a few waves, but its solid
And the bed rails and sides nice and straight. Rear Fenders have a few road pucks but NOT deep
I have WELL over 10K to date into it. I lost count really after 10,ooo.
7500 would buy it.
trust me, ask around, shop around.... you CANNOT drag one of these out of the woods and build it for less.. M series parts are NOT cheap, especially when you try and keep the original 24 volt system intact. buy this one and enjoy today... keep the canvas top off and you got a BIG jeep to enjoy summer with.
If your wanting one of these, look around first. A lot of them have rusty, under-bed tool box areas, rust under headlight buckets, on front fenders, rust on door pillars and a LOT have rust on top cowl where water rests under the windshield rubber deal.
This truck has NEVER had any of these issues! its a CLEAN southern truck.
All of the big expensive ticket items are done.
All the hard work is done for you. Buy and enjoy now. not 4 years later like I did!
