Looking good Oz,

My front brake lines look the same..

Ive still got the body on my chassis so I'm just doing the front end of the truck at the moment, once i work out how to lift the body enough to work on the rest of the chassis i will but for now I'm happy to do what I'm doing,i will also be taking the rest of the engine apart at some point and taking it somewhere..! i really need an engine stand but I'm trying not to buy too many things as my garage can only take so much.
I bought my brake lines from MWM very happy with them,i will also need to buy the fuel line that goes the length of the chassis,i thought i would be able to use the old one but once i had taken it off i noticed rust holes in it..
I too have a panel beating kit and have already used it on the wings and right side of the body,i still need to do the left side, its quite bent, mine looks like the body was stored off the chassis at some point going by how its bent up,hopefully i will be able to straighten it out.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks for confirming the brake line run. I have a few vintage style brake line clamps coming in to secure them with some short sections of asphalt loom. For now everything fits well as you said, so i'm happy.

The engine stand is very handy. 'im glad i have it. i think it will make assembly and painting easier.

glad you are on the way with body work. i'm still a bit away from those banging operations :P

Although I am not ready to begin assembling the harness, the bulk wire has arrived. I look forward to starting this project and reporting the individual run lengths.

Hi Oz,

That wiring loom looks very nice, are you going to cover the wires going along the chassis rail to protect them?

And what company did you get it from? was in vintage wiring of Maine? not cheap..

I may just get an engine stand,i do need it..

I found this wiring at Brillman.com The prices drop over 9' again over 24' and they seem to have the best color and trace combinations.. All of the wire and terminals seen here and some shrink wrap was $270. I still need to get the loom, B/O plugs, some connectors and the batt cables. i am hoping to be around $400-ish when i finish

Regarding the rear motor mount bolt: The TM indicates 7/16-20 bolts and nuts, but does not specify a length. the washer as listed as 2" diameter.. The cotter pin is listed a 3/32 x 1 1/2" I measured the one I have and it is 3 1/4" long. the spacer ID accepts the bolt and it's OD is 5/8 and 2 1/4" long.

Just to clarify, this is just the cloth covered wire. I'll be making the harness myself. :P

I ordered 2 bushings, or spanners for the mounts. same dimension as the original, although the new rubbers stacked are 2 1/2" tall. the longest spanner i could find was 2 1/8" long. that should not be a problem. will post images when i have everything together.

BTW the proper name for a bolt with a hole is a drilled shank fastener. Just learned that

To those following this tread, I found another company as well making original style cloth covered wiring.

Rhode Island wiring
401-789-1955
Riwire.com

Not sure how their prices compare but I like the product. Used it for my wc12 build and currently using on my 44 MB project

They have a superb selection of wires. I might use them for the couple of differences I have. Their prices are better than Brillman also. nice find!

I just got off the phone with RIwire. Great company. I ordered the 4 short wires that I needed in the proper color combinations that Brillman did not list. For my GPW I'll be using these guys. They have all of the hardware, wire, connectors, bakelite 1-2 way connectors etc.

Thanks Dave
