WWII GI ISSUE 12 VOLT AUTO-LITE COIL FOR WC

Post by Joe Gopan » Sun Mar 17, 2013 2:24 pm

Removed from crated WWII WC Engines in the 50's. Includes mounting bracket to Cyl Head.It is 12 Volt and has the Green 12 Volt Decal and Ground Stud on bottom.
I have a WC 6 Volt one with the Cyl Head Bracket, also.
I have saved thes for years, back then the Army was disposing crated take out engines by the hundreds, we opened the crates of the "turn in" engines, test ran them, if they knocked, we stripped and scrapped them.
Looking to TRADE for scarce CCKW items, H-700 Keyed Ignition Switches, NOS Dara Plates, Spare Tire Lock for the SWB CCKW.

Still have 1 more 12 Volt Auto-Lite Coil from this batch for trade. Here's your chance to have an authentic WWII 12 Volt AutoLite coil on your G-502 WC.

Im looking for the 12V coil with the stud on the bottom. The bracket bolts either to the head, but in 3/4T WCs that bracket goes to anther bracket on the steering column. The stud on the bottom attaches a bonding strap that then attaches to the mast jacket of the column.

The WC Dodge coils do not go on the head
The 1/2 ton ones mount through the fire wall
the 3/4 ton mount on the steering column
Rip Dad 1/22/24 to 12/21/11
I will always love and miss you.

Thanks for the reminder! Havent had a 1/2t since 1974. This coil must be 3/4t only, right? The 1/2t, as you mention, goes through the firewall and has the ignition connection on the part that inside the cab? And that was an armored lead to the ignition switch if my failing memory is serving me.

The coil is probably correct. But the 3/4 tons mount on the steering column with a different bracket not the head

I've got the 3/4T bracket, what I don't have is the 12V coil with the ground stud on the bottom.

1/2 ton WC 6V coils came in 2 types. The early early type had a separate bracket that mounted to the coil and then the firewall and the later type that had the bracket permanently affixed to the coil. Believe the T-207’s had the early type and the T-211’s and T-215’s had the later type. Nice thing about the early type bracket is that you can at least mount an aftermarket coil on it with a little modification and mount it to the firewall.

Yeah but he doesn't sell. Trades only for unobtainium parts and pieces. I have one in the truck that I soldered a flat head screw to the bottom. No one would know any better, except mr...

I do sell, but money does not always buy everything. Having trinkets for the natives and patience sometimes works better.I feel your pain tho.
