Hi Rory
Great pics
Can we get some shots of the tailgates, the axels, and the interior?
Thanks ERnie

Tired but original

It looks right to me.

In the range of photos Rory has, you can see the hand-made rear side windows and it has all the other features too.

In the side shot you can see where the civilian fuel filler hole on the original van body has been leaded-in and started to show through, plus the filler for the rear mounted tank that replaced it.

The roof needs work, as do the side panels, but the crucial upper rear body seems to be intact, along with all the numbers necessary to verify it.

i would like to buy, trade for it,, or ?? , i have the wc48 4x2 carryall, the wc26 1/2ton carryall, and the wc53 3/4 carryall, email me or pm me, plus other VC's and VF's, will pay a good price, and yes, parts are hard to find..especially axles and rims, (as gordan can attest to), .but i can complete this, (by robbing off another vc here) and share the info/with walley, and complete two, cool, piece, and there always seams to be another one,, and they still keep popping up...
amazing to see the rust out?? especially up north? how bad are the floors? ,, jeff

Today the owner was cleaning out the inside very carefully and found the engine crank, and a penny dated 1941 (heads up) Soon I should have photos of the seats. Both of the rear quarter glass was in there also. I should have tons of photos in the next couple weeks.

Later,

Rory

I Just came back from looking at the VC-6 for the first time. It is in better shape then I thought. Here is a photo from the back the way it was found.

I was wrong on the motor number, Here is the photo of the engine.

Fuel tank and rear axle, springs and frame looks great.

All the seats are there.

This is what it looks like now, with a home made front axle to move it around.

This VC-6 is now in the hands of Wally Wallforth's. We all knew he would end up with it.

Thank you,

Rory Grenier

Wally had the second VC 6 too, which had been cut back on top and turned into a pickup, so with this one he has the vital patterns for all the original bits to re-make the pair of them.

Engine, drivetrain, front metal, and axles were common across the range. VC 6 specific parts were limited to the rear body, chassis part number, and the bigger cast side spare wheel mount - similar to a half ton VC / WC pickup but longer and straight.

If I had to do it I'd look for two 1940 half ton van bodies and just convert tehm by hand the same as the originals were.
