Re: Chevy on Craigslist
The data plates on the glove box door yet with military gauges makes it look like a mid 1941 ZP series truck. Insert bearing engine with the original g506 draft tube indicate some past tinkering so it is hard to determine age with the information available. All of the other features look coincident with mid 1941 though.Farrell Fox wrote:I think it's an early 1942 and not a 41.
Nice project, missing a bunch of small items and big items such as the bed...cab looks nice.

Ferrell, you are close to the tip of the spear my friend on the "Service Command". Look again at how may points there are on that star. That's right my friend, 8th. Service Command. 9th. S.C. had a 9 point star.

I can't count anywhere near as high as the asking price of that truck, maybe about 1/3rd as much, even with the M series wheels and tires.

Oh come on now Ferrell, EVERY Marine knows how to count. ONE TWO THREE FOUR I love the Marine Corps., FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT Army Dogs get in my way!! Remember??? I would probably go as high as 2K for it Jon, it doesn't appear to be too badly molested or have excessive additions to the chassis. Heck, you could even make up another set of your world famous bumperettes mow that you have experience building them.

Re: Chevy on Craigslist
2K? either you're too generous or I'm too cheap, where's the T case shifters and why are they missing and where's the inside of the drivers door? Yes, that stuff is readily available.
The seller would have to come down to almost $0 to lure me into a torturous 300 mile ride to Philadelphia.
It Does have a nice seat and the sheet metal looks pretty straight. The seller would have to come down to almost $0 to lure me into a torturous 300 mile ride to Philadelphia.

Yes it is missing a bunch of little parts, and a bunch of big parts. Cab still looks nice.
