Not bad if someone is serious about wanting the kit.

You are probably right. But when something doesn't sell, it makes no sense to INCREASE the asking price under any circumstances I've heard of.Ben Dover wrote:Not bad if someone is serious about wanting the kit.
The seller, not wanting to loose money on the first listing increased the price to cover his fees. Or at least, that's this guy's interpretation.

Raising prices on rare items is not unheard of. Especially when trading for rare items.

You are the expert in trading up, aren't you? Or at least attempting to trade up.Ben Dover wrote:Raising prices on rare items is not unheard of. Especially when trading for rare items.
In this case, I suspect the "market" has spoken and his rare items were not worth his initial asking price. So a higher price is not warranted.

Re: NOS Jeep Shielded Ignition Kit
There's a lot of envy involved in the antique vehicle hobby, some parts are priced out of reach for the average MV enthusiast, but that does not mean those parts are a necessary item. There is no need to bash another just because they have accumulated a supply of rare parts. Making friends that practice a 2 way street in parts and favors is a key element, it takes time though.
If I were into radios, I would not hesitate to find a way to buy this item as it could be a while before another surfaces.

Enough of that stuff Farrell, I have still a masterpiece PM from you explaining if I weren't such a jerk I would be the owner of that lock. There were also other messages from a couple more of your associates involved in representing that same lock.
Farrell, instead of your name calling and hate mail, why not share some MV knowledge.

"You are probably right. But when something doesn't sell, it makes no sense to INCREASE the asking price under any circumstances I've heard of". That's a very ignorant statement, buyers are often turned off by low prices because they feel like there must be something wrong with the item. I have sold thousands of items on ebay and have had the same experience. People want to feel confident in what they are buying and a higher price does give them that confidence. .

You guys are dick heads, what the hell happened for you people to be so vile and ugly toward each other. Joel made a simple factual comment with no animosity and you two proceed to once again bring your personal differences and air out your dirty laundry, no one cares!! We don't come to this board to listen to you guys defame and try to destroy one another. Get over it, the hate is gonna eat you up inside and put you in an early grave. You two obviously know very little about business and sales.

I've been called worse. And based on your comments, why oh why did you bother stopping to "our level" and commenting on it?blitz67 wrote:You guys are dick heads, what the hell happened for you people to be so vile and ugly toward each other. Yes, I know nothing of business and sales. What business principle are you quoting to give a buyer confidence by increasing price? I've never heard of that. I dont think any of my professors would agree with you & im quite positive none of my customers would appreciate it. It was comical to read. That ignition set must be yours?

What was the original price? It's at $1,250 now.
