Re: GPW and MB heads
Depends on condition, it is worth the investment to have them magnafluxed and resurfaced to remove any doubt as to condition.

They are available on the east coast for 200 for a mb and 300 for a gpw, Magna fluxed and cut and ready to go. A slat head is more. Post is a killer to send too far. Since the older shops are all but gone here, It costs 100 to get one cut and 25 to 50 for magna fluxing in NEPA

Re: GPW and MB heads
FYI, I believe 1 head will fit in a Postal Flat Rate Medium size box. Makes shipping alot easier.

Did you post these on the g503 FB page? Is the MB head dated 3-5?

Nope, gotta be a Large flat rate box, the one made for monopoly games, only gives less than an inch of packaging space, So if your buyer wont complain if his 300 buck head gets there damaged or nicked or scratched and the post wont insure it you are good to go.
There a dozen on the auction site you can compare to to get prices, unless you have something really nice or rare.
Just search in the parts for sale section, for cylinder head, there are few there, most with price reduced posts.

Re: GPW and MB heads
Adam,
I was just trying to help. I have had a few heads shipped to me via USPS. I guess I was incorrect on the size of the box. In my experience, everything worked out just fine.
Stinson,
Last year, with USPS as the shipper, I paid $100 each plus shipping (from 2 different sellers). Both heads were takeoffs with nothing done but a visual inspection by the sellers.
On my side of the country, Northern California, I got both heads resurfaced and magna fluxed for $150 total.

Re: GPW and MB heads
I've bought Model A heads before at about $18-$20 shipped in the seller's own box. This might be helpful, as they're approximately the same size. (4cyl).
