F/S Fram Oil Filter

Post by Mark in Tucson » Thu Dec 07, 2017 7:10 am

I have for sale what appears to be an NOS Fram oil filter assembly.
The mounting straps have no marks of installation.
It is time to let this beauty go.
$200.00 plus shipping from Tucson, AZ.
US sale only.

We know that this style of Fram canister (what I call a “piss away from block”) was used by Ford (at least at Louisville) during March/April 1943.

Mike, I can see that filter being used then, has the same crimps and roll at the top as other frams, however were those big mounting straps with oval holes from back in 43 also? Do you have a picture of that installation?

I only have one photo showing this filter on an immediate post Louisville delivered GPW but it doesn’t show the rear of the bands. The registration number is 36 numbers higher (if I recall correctly) than my 3-28-43 Louisville GPW. The bands on this one here look like the Purolator style?
