Any Interest in decals?

Post by GreyWulf » Wed Nov 22, 2017 7:58 pm

Hey all,
I just paid a crapload for a near mint purolator filter housing. I am going to see if I can have copies of its waterslide decals made. Is there any interest amoung the rest of the restoration community? These were used on some MBs and especially GPWs. I need it for a PE-95G. Mine is the middle pic.

I would be interested as this style of decal is not being readily offered by anyone that I know of. These were also used on Purolators fitted to Dodges.

Can you post a photo of the part number stamp on the cover also?

Thanks for the replies guys. I was going to see if this place that does great guitar decals can reproduce them. I will post a price when I find out if they are game. I just want to offset the price for myself.

Greywolf,

Is yours (#2) a reproduction? I ask because photo #1 and #3 above are identical but yours uses a different font with a different typesetting.

Hello Folks
My Purolator filter on my matching number April 45 is the same as the picture of Davids matching number 44 which also states NEWARK. Wonder just how many plants Purolator had producing the filters during ww2.
regards Nick

Yes, perhaps Purolator had additional factories making housing and covers? My NOS Dodge Purolator has the “Newark” decal.
