Re: FS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Shipping being a prohibitive thing....can you post where the items are?
Also, if you post the engine number and casting date that will help sell it.
Pics of both would be good to have!

Do you have engine number and casting date? I'm in NW Chicago, so you're in my backyard so to speak.

Re: FS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Good evening,
Is the engine still available, or has it been sold?
Thanks,
Rudi

Re: FS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Early Willys? It's not an Americar engine. And that flywheel is not an Americar/MB style. Is that a generator/welder motor?
SN looks odd....truck or wagon?

Re: FS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Looks like a Willys model 441 Americar engine to me by the serial number.

Re: FS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
I thought the Americar only had a partial (upper) water jacket?

Re: FS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
I've seen the partial water jacket engines. I don't know for sure what their time frame would be. All I know is the 441 prefix is for the Model 441 and the 442 prefix is for the Model 442. That's about the extent of my Americar knowledge.

Re: FS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Lt. Luke....I'm not an MB guy, but I think the 1940 Americar was the last year to have the exposed cylinder water jacket feature and in 1941 they went to the block design used for the MB engines...that is my understanding.

Re: FS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
I think you're correct. The exposed water jacket would be the Model 440 or earlier. I think only the 441 and 442 were actually called Americars.
