Re: Two WW2 GPW project jeeps for sale
Just went through there, only 12 hours away. I can see the engine in the Jeep is post-war what is the other one. Any casting numbers or a better picture of it, fan is in the way of front of engine.

What's the serial number of the March 1943 GPW? I can't read the tag. There are 5 particular March '43 GPW's I'm looking for....maybe yours is one of them? Thanks in advance.

Both engines look to be the army returns that were re-stamped CJ2A right after the war.
I will have to look at the 1943 GPWs number after I get home from work tonight. Don't remember what it is off the top of my head.

If I remember correctly, the delivery date was March 1943.
Then the 1942 was June, which I was told was the last month the government allowed them to put the Ford script on the back of the tub.

"If I remember correctly, the delivery date was March 1943." That fits. Do you know, or can you find out, what day in March? Thanks for your trouble, BW

The guy didn't come through with the money. So the 1942 GP is still for sale.
Thanks,
