Mavie,
I have just run into an issue with my MD Juan frame that perhaps you can add to your list of improvements. There are two captive nuts that belong inside the frame rail on the passengers side for the air filter splash shield. These are missing on your frame, as is the third hole in the passenger side engine mount bracket. Further, all of the holes for junction plate mounting, filtrette mounting, fuel line clips, speedo cable clips, etc are missing from the firewall and fenders. There are no holes in the firewall for the firewall pad retaining clips either. It would make this product much, much more user friendly if you could include all these accessory holes and the captive nuts for the splash shield.
Thanks,
Fritter

The person is from other part of the world where they have different culture, different ways to show their gratitude respect and express their thoughts. It is possible that they do not speak perfect English and have not have to. The fact of opening this thread and the fact there there were some improvements during the production cycle shows that they sincerely want to make their products better. Maybe there are not so successful and rather slow in that. However personal insults will not be help them with doing their job and in addition the false understanding may be created in this part of the world that some of americans are arrogant and impolite.

I wholeheartedly agree Irakli. Much as I hate to drill all these holes into the MD Juan products, the alternative is much worse, therefore I'm quite thankful they are producing and wish them success in their venture and in their product improvements.

Reproduction hood hinges of the proper depth and with the correct number of segments (9, or 11) for early and late GPW/ MBs. The early MB with 9 segments and the late MB/GPWs with 11 segments and the "F" stamp.

I just ran into another issue with my repro body tub. The horn mounting bracket cannot be installed. The two holes and captive nuts for the bracket are correctly spaced, but there is no room in the upper corner of the firewall for the bracket. If you get an original bracket or a repro from Ron and try this you'll see what I mean.

I experienced the same issue with my GPW body. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until after the body was painted or I would have filled the holes and drilled new ones. Instead I found the "happy medium" to move the bracket in enough so the hood would close and the bracket would cover the pre-drilled holes. I drilled two new holes and mounted the bracket.

Have any of the comments made on this thread been pushed to production?

Thank you for the suggestion but as per our Product Engineering and Sales Department the volume might small that could not be feasible for us to make the product.

100% correct Boyso, Trailer tubs and spring hangers are 2 things for a start.

One of your spring hangers.

My suggestion would be to invest in a Tape meassure and digital calipers before investing in new tooling as for me having the traler tub fixed by my metal guy was not a cheap exercise.

Thank you for the information.
As per checking we already have improved the measurement of the trailer tub.

Then as I stated earlier you need to "improve" it more, the tub I purchased was a 1/2 inch to long not the 1/4 inch your "improvement" goes to.

Starting a couple years ago I considered restoring another MBT that needed a new tub, twice I have been discouraged by the failure stories of collectors who purchased MBT Bodies that cannot be made to fit a simple rectangular frame dimension. Am sure you have had enough practice, Quality Control is the issue.
