F/S WWI Ordnance Department Lamp Type 158-RB

Post by Quest Master » Thu Oct 26, 2017 9:33 am

Just picked up this huge Ordnance Department lamp. Made by OLD-SOL model 158-RB. Made of cast aluminum and stands just shy of 1' tall.

Re: WWII? Huge Ordnance Department Lamp/Lantern

Just noticed the patent date: June 24, 13 (or maybe it's 18, tough to tell).
What does it go to?
Thanks,

Now I'm sure, I see the hook hole on the side, I thought it was up higher
Thought my reply posted, but it's a WWI Renault or US M1917 tank light. Hook goes in the bracket, we bought one for our 1917 in Va War Museum last year. Can't find photos of it handy (of course)
Would look good in my 1918 Truck, but that's going to take a while to reassemble (and funds)

Holy smokes! That's cool! If you find a picture of the lamp/lantern mounted I'd love to see it.
When I found this one today I was like, ummm ok...that's something I've never seen before - buy it!

I have carefully disassembled, crushed glass blasted and restored the WWI Army Ordnance Department Type 158-RB Lamp to its former glory. I am putting it up for sale for $250.00
If you are interested in it, PM me. A very neat piece of WWI equipment, as used in the FT-17 Tank.
