Great pictures. I'm not really qualified to comment on the upper echelon tools but the sets seem to be pre October 1942 MVMTS. I'm surprised by the appearance of the screwdriver though.

Great pic! Thanks Chad!
The pipe wrench looks to be a 10"
The sockets on the left appear to have the hole for the detent ball. Walden perhaps, or SnapOn? or a mix?
the slip joint pliers look like 6" new to the side cutters.
The hack saw doesn't have the wing nut at the front and looks like a Forsberg.
2 different style oilers
Notice the pad locks...
File brushes, carbon scraper, HD screwdriver
Adjustable has a reinforced hanging hole
No 4oz hammer, but what looks like a 16oz and maybe a 32oz'r?

The toolboxes look brand spanking new. Round handle on the tray a la McAleer or Hamilton.

Very cool.

Another excellent photo Chad! I have a strong suspicion that the flex-head and maybe at least some of the sockets are made by Armstrong Bros. Their sockets often had drilled holes in them to aid fitting to the detent ball. There is an image of the 17 inch version of the flex-head in Alloy Artifacts:

Good eye, but I would say irrefutably so, Don. Only twelve (12) sockets, the shorter (7") and fatter (1") brass drift, the 10" pipe wrench, the extra 10" flat file (bastard cut), a 16- and 32-oz ball-pein, the file card and carbon scraper, no brush, no midget set, no electrical set, and no long 15* angle pattern DBE's. This is the pre-/early war MVTS to a tee.

Did anyone notice that the file card is not the flatter kind, like the Nicholson or the kind show in the OQMG Circular 4 figures, it's that type that looks more like a hairbrush with the thick rounded handle and the thicker card. I've had a few but they are definitely in less abundance than the later Nicholson style with or without a pick or the even slimmer and less substantive type with the spade-end handle.

If you mean screwdrivers, plural, and you're referring to the 10" blade (15" overall) and 6" blade (11" overall) common heavy duty types, me too, Don. They're not integral handle; they have ferrules!

Nice pic again Chad,
i wonder if the screwdriver shank continues through to the end of the handle for striking ? I have found a couple of US manufacture in this style.
