WWII Grease kit Case? What's it for?
This a WWII US Grease Gun Kit wooden box with leather handle and dove tail construction that once consisted of 3) Grease Guns and 3) cans of standard A-2 grease I'm not for sure if it's for a Jeep or other US Armor Vehicle? any thoughts?

Abe,
The 2nd Echelon Tool-Set No. 2 had 41-C-465, CASE, metal, portable, for carrying hand lubricating guns. The figure in the October 1942 SNL N-19 and the December 1943 TM 10-475 looks like your case, attache style, with a handle and two clasps. Maybe wood was early, or maybe they accepted wood in place of metal.

Re: WWII Grease kit Case? What's it for?
Does anyone know what was the application for A2 grease? I'm not sure how to look it up, and a simple google search returned no info on WW2-era A2 grease.
Modern applications indicated that it can be used to lube wire rope: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 64308.html
I also found a closed auction for a STEWART WARNER ALEMITE Model 4041-A2 Grease Gun, but I'm not sure how close a connection there is to what would have gone in this case. A couple of pics:
Thanks,
Steve
