Ithink he would make them if ordered. From what I recall, he is usually willing to add a new product, on request.
He made Fyr Fyter decals using a pattern Roger Briggs sent him, using a very good specimen I owned at his place.

Also from memory, there were two different runs of labels from Vintage Power Wagon, the first one being better.

Did you talk with him about you sending him one from John, and see if he can make a decal?

Just a comment on the self-stick type G-D decals. There's nothing wrong with them for durability and appearance if they are printed on a "solid" base color -- like the G-D M-2 decontaminator decals offered by John Bizal at Midwest Military. Those decals can be distressed like an original and are thick -- like an original. When Midwest initially offered the G-D Fire Guard FE decal years ago they were exactly like his decontaminator product and superb. Unfortunately, he changed his source on that particular decal and now they are 100% printed, not layered on a gold backing base -- yuck. I've seen some water transfer type Fire Guards that I'm told came from Vintage Power Wagons and they look very nice on an FE.

PS: edited 04/03/17 to say "Fire Guard" instead of "Fyr-Fyter" .

Tankdriver,

Sorry for being obtuse but now I'm slightly confused. When you say... "did you talk with him about you sending him one from John, and see if he can make a decal?"

Which John am I getting an "SOS Fire Guard" decal from in order to send it to John Brantley for John Brantley to make a better version of that decal?

Sorry for my confusion.

Thank you,
Henry

No problem...

If you purchased one from Midwest, and sent it to Military Steel Helmets and Decals, would they make you a better decal?

Tankdriver,

Thank you very much. Clear as day now. I'll call Midwest and see what they have for the SOS Fire Guard then send same to John Brantley. I'll let you all know what I find.

Thanks again,
Henry

FYI -- John Brantley recreates the decals from scratch using a graphics program (which will explain a set-up charge). We went through several drafts before we got the Fire Gun (1/2 track/Scout Car) decal right in both color, graphics and font. Look at the original/NOS decal type Fire Gun FE earlier in this post and you'll understand the challenges.

I was killing time today and watching this War Department Film Bulletin on how to water proof you Jeep for an invasion.
Link to the youtube video is HERE.
Anyway, I think the Jeep shown is a GPW, and someone can (and probably will) correct me if I'm wrong, but there's a pretty decent picture at about 2:20 in of a General SOS F/E.
Not sure the best place to post this, so I found the most recent F/E thread.

I was looking for tools, but instead, you just see a G.I. (probably getting cancer) massaging asbestos all over his Jeep.

Here's the screenshot.

A few wrenches in the pic, but I can't tell what brand.

Jason, that won't be too surprising if true. The SOS Fire Guard is documented in several period photos of GPWs.

No Jason, your spot on :D an early one as well, Ford Script. I wondered why he put the FE on the passenger floor, instead of the bracket. Happen to grease up the dimmer switch.
I've got the same FE so it looks like i'm good to go with it :D I hope
