I've never seen a reference to Enderes in any of my resources, Hugh. That doesn't mean they weren't a supplier. But they don't show up in any ORD 5, ORD 6, contracts books, etc. Not surprising given their size. Their output capacity was not very large. Enderes was still in business with a very loyal (almost cultish) following until 2012. Their tools were all hand (and later machine) struck, like the old blacksmith made tools. When they re-opened a few years ago (as Northridge), Harry Epstein co-sponsored a huge party.lucas wrote:I see Enderes fairly often and have a few of their tools...I thought they were WW2 supplier, but not positive????..Greg??? You are right, of course. I misspoke er miswrote. The punches were United and they look to have had a hard life. I suspect that most will end up as center punches.

No problem, Don. It was obviously a 41-B-1840-ian slip!
I like the UNITED punches for the way they have the knurling rolled into the stock, like a MAYHEW, not a raised band of it. What's interesting about the ENDERES 3/8" punch is that it took the other (no knurling, but irregular shape) of the two Fed Spec specified approaches.

That shape/format (octagonal) stuck with me from the Wynmkr kit and that's how I was able to pick that particular pin punch out of the lineup so to speak.Wingnutt wrote:What's interesting about the ENDERES 3/8" punch is that it took the other (no knurling, but irregular shape) of the two Fed Spec specified approaches.
I actually found that Enderes pin punch, the Stanley/PWA hammer, and a couple of midget blackhawk sockets from the same vendor. Gave a full $2 for all of it!

Haven't seen you guys in a bit! Last week was rained out, and this week my Father in Law came out from NM, and we had one, solid, beautiful day of market shopping The day before and after the market were filled with T-Storms, but the clouds parted for my buddy from NM. Here's a sample:
PLVMB 1220 Combi

PLVMB 3030 DOE
PLVMB 1214 Combi
WILLIAMS ALLOY 1028S
FAIRMOUNT 6in plier

WILLIAMS 722 DOE
VLCHEL ALLOY 2426 (plain steel finish)
VLCHEK ALLOY STEEL 27
CIRCLE DC 1733 DOE
Screwdriver unknown, Made in USA, doesn't fit Greg's 'magic flea market chart'

Glad to see you're getting some use out of it!USAFpj wrote:Screwdriver unknown, Made in USA, doesn't fit Greg's 'magic flea market chart'
I may be interested in that Williams 1028S if it's not a keeper for you. Need to go through some things first, but I think I have a nice set going now.
Nice score on the FAIRMOUNT pliers. If you're not keeping those, TJ is looking for them...

Re: 2017 flea
Pretty good haul of Plomb you scored there O.B. Congrats!
The Herbrand Vanadium wrench is pre-war, but I love that script lettering they use in the Brand mark.
The small Williams DOE is a post war style.
The Kraeuter water pump pliers look good to me.
Too bad about the stubby screwdriver. Those are hard to find. There was a +/- on the length of .25in IIRC. There's a thread on that driver somewhere here...
The Fairmount pliers are for sure a win! I've yet to find a pair myself. Nice!

Re: 2017 flea
Couple of pleasant surprises today!
15in Vlchek adjustable
1/2in drive 5in long Plomb extension
5in long Plomb WF-17 extension
SK 7/16" socket 1/2in drive
unable to find a brand on the putty knife so far
Vlchek 3/8" & 7/16" midget offset DBE
Duro Chrome (X) 1723 DOE
Near complete late war midget 1/4in drive SK set. Only missing the Tbar handle!
Oh and a strange thread pitch gauge that I just couldn't leave behind.

Dang, I think that's the blackest black oxide SK set I've seen yet! Very nice. As for the screw pitch gage, if you mean the shape is strange - I have one like that from Browne & Sharp that I call the ninja death star!
And if you mean the brand being strange - I just found a feeler gage from PEC last week...

Re: 2017 flea
Jason,
It's quite a coincidence that we both found a Vlchek 3/8" X 7/16" DBE wrench and an S-K dark finish 7/16" socket over the same weekend. Here are my GMTK possibles from Friday and Saturday.

Isn't it though! All the parts were floating around in an old carry box. I had to dig to find all the pieces. I don't think it was ever used. Kicking myself now for not looking more for the Tbar handle. It was probably floating around in there somewhere!Wingnutt wrote:Dang, I think that's the blackest black oxide SK set I've seen yet! NICE! You got the box for yours too. Excellent. Very much like a throwing star. I had never seen that type of gauge or the PEC brand before. I'll put this one to good use.Wingnutt wrote:As for the screw pitch gage, if you mean the shape is strange - I have one like that from Browne & Sharp that I call the ninja death star!

Is that Universal joint a Williams? Nice score on that 41-H breaker bar!
