Me neither! Awesome find!

EDIT: PWA 1407 is not listed in Feb 1943 Admiralty Fleet Order 438 (a British listing of all US aeronautical tools - including Wright and PWA).

Do you think it could be older? The Stanley brand mark doesn't have the box around it? :?:

P.W.A. Meaning Pacific Western Airlines? If so, it's not that old. It incorporated in 1945 and operated from the 50's - 80's.

P.W.A. = Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. The other less common one is Ranger AT, or sometimes just AT, which is Fairchild Aviation, or so I'm told.

I wouldn't put too much stock in that A.F.O. being 100% complete. There are tools for installation and maintenance listed in a Wright Cyclone engine manual I have access to that are not listed in the A.F.O. and vice versa. It's a nice look-up, but I don't read it as fool-proof either. Note that there are no hammers listed, but dozens of drifts and bars. What were they striking them with?

I think the AFO is only relating to specialist tools for each engine concerned not a complete list of all PWA tools or other manufacturers.

Oh man... can't believe I forgot this. It just popped into my head when I realized that it wasn't in any of the pictures that I took.
I had left this sitting out by the electrolysis tank. Glad I remembered it!
If I'm not mistaken, ENDERES was the brand of the large (3/8") pin punch from the WYNMKR kit.

Well, looks like I found it's twin. :D

Here's a LINK to the Wynmkr punches.

It's funny that you should mention that set's punches. I found a group of Union brand punches on Friday and remembered that those were in there too.

I don't know that brand at all. I'm surprised they don't seem to have USA on them anywhere?

You may be thinking of UNITED, Don. The 1/4" drive pin punch in the wynmakr kit was a UNITED. I just found two of them (a center punch and a drive pin) last week, posted on pg 5 of my 'Spring Has Sprung Tools' thread. Here they are:

The inventory sheet I did for Randy is here: viewtopic.php?p=1358455#p1358455
Need to think of a good reference type place to put this, i.e., the catalog thread or the retrospective thread, etc.
