L to R...
Unmarked 6" pliers
Camron US6" dikes
Utica 1950-6 USA opposite TL-13-A
Hog ringers, unmarked
<sk> 3/8 x 8" breaker
WM Schollhorn co US demolition pliers
Wilton 104 C-clamp
Pecking hammer, no marks
Navy deck pants, WWII
Acetelene tank (not pictured)
Is there a way to age C-clamps? That Wilton C-Clamp is my first addition to my welder's tool set. I looked the model up and on eBay they are selling for $130+! I note a small difference between the new ones and mine. On the new ones, where the cross bar passes through the screw, the boss is square. On mine, it is ROUND. The model number is stamped in, and on the opposite, the drop forged markings (which I didn't list) are part of the forging.

Re: Flea Market 2014-2017
Seems like I say it every weekend but I found one of the coolest things I've ever found this morning and its paper not metal! A former local dirt track racer was selling off his tools and all of the tools except for the gull wing pliers, Fairmount hammer (16oz but will need a new handle) and CeeTee pliers came form him. A Super Quality, Circle DC and S-K short DBE. A Vlchek 1/2" socket. I see these very once in awhile but they don't come up often. A complete set would be difficult to put together but it would make an awesome set.

That's quite something. Remember to keep it somewhere really dark as it doesn't look like it has started to fade at all.

Good point Gordon. He had them in a stack of old postcards which I suppose served the same purpose.

Some recent flea finds. First, I'm told Silly may be able to tell me about this Britool?

I've been trying to collect "off-brands" of these wrenches. Top to bottom is Bridgeport, Herbrand, Fairmount x2 and Moore Drop Forge.

I think the Britool 1587 may be part of the Bedford MW tool kit as shewn top left to the right of the oil can in this picture. May be in other British Vehicles to.
Britool are a well known British Make.

Re: Flea Market 2014-2017
Britool is really common here and I don't know anyone that collects it, but I can't remember ever seeing anything Britool with "War Finish' on it.
It's worth noting that the basic branding is BRITOOL, and the font / typeface of BRITISH and MADE FOR VAUXHALL BEDFORD VEHICLES is different. Maybe the BRITISH is the same sort of country of origin identifier as we see on US stuff? I expect that was originally issued for a Bedford MW, OX, or OY lorry ( none of your 'trucks' here) One thing though - are those sizes AF or Whitworth?

Woah bud! Bridgeport is the most likely candidate for the RAPD double open end wrenches in the GPA photo and a name's for supplier.twertsy wrote:I've been trying to collect "off-brands" of these wrenches. Top to bottom is Bridgeport, Herbrand, Fairmount x2 and Moore Drop Forge.
Herbrand is only an "off brand" with respect to the "auto wrenches" but most certainly WWII correct.
FairmounT is the premier supplier address but willys for wrenches.
The Moore 12" is the wrench in the partial NOS GPW as-found kit and absolutely correct with a "cult following", myself included!
No off-brands in your stack!

Todd,
I'll bet the Bridgeport auto wrench is only 10". It does pass the hubnut wrench test. Fairmount Cleve is prewar.

When I say "off brand," I'm referring to virtually any that don't say 9" Auto. Certainly used the wrong term there but those Auto marked one's are everywhere. Once I take pics and post them up they're all available for your pickin.

And I didn't mean to be condescending at all. I may nibble on the BHm. I have to check the piles at home to verify presence or absence in my own collection.twertsy wrote:When I say "off brand," I'm referring to virtually any that don't say 9" Auto.
