TOOL CONTRACTS INFO

Postby Workdawg » Sun May 01, 2011 8:07 am

This info came from a disc at the Patton Museum library Fort Knox KY.
Disc contained info on WW2 govt. contracts in excess of 50,000.00
Sorry for the blurry photos, I don't have a scanner.
I had to provide the curator with company names inorder for him to look them up.
I wish i could do this again and provide him with more company names of all tool makers.
Bad news is: the armor museum has since been closed and its contents relocated to Ft. Benning GA.

Note: RED DOTS = ORD
BLUE DOTS = AC
GREEN DOTS = QM
letter L = lend lease
The rest are NAVY as listed

Hope everyone enjoys this info and finds it helpful to the hobby, it may make for good discussion as well.

Brian,

I believe this CD-ROM data is the same offered by author Alec S. Tulkoff in his USMC reference book Grunt Gear. It's from a publication entitled Alphabetical Listing of Major War Supply Contracts: Cumulative June 1940 through September 1945, Civilian Production Administration - Industrial Statistics Division.

Not sure what Turkoff was charging (it's not listed in the book). He can probably be reached through publisher R. James Bender (www.bender-publishing.com).

Yes,
That title sounds like the one my museum friend told me about a few years ago.

Brian, I am still at the country house, but I take it I can stop digging in my files. Thanks for posting: I am confident that at least some discussions will stop!
