6545-912-XXXX Case Medical Instrument & Supply Set No 5

Post by Mark Tombleson » Mon Oct 26, 2009 1:20 pm

I somehow came across this medical case back 20 years or so ago and pulled it out today. I cannot read the last four digits well enough to get any hits on the correct case. Does anyone know when this was made? A guess on my part is late 1950s to early 1960s.

It looks like the numbers are 6545-912-9890 Vietnam era M-5 medic bag.
The same basic setup is still used today it looks like.

M3 bags are still used some, but I've never seen the M5 used. Most of the time, the medics will be issued COTS stuff.
