Uk flea market find

Hi guys after all the years I've posts of people finding great tools on stalls, I found a beauty yesterday!

I spotted a large axe embedded in the ground on one stall, I pulled it out and guess what it was a Collins in really nice condition! It measures 35 inches as well.

Here's some photos after I cleaned it up and put some linseed oil on the handle, it has a Collins handle so it may not be a true WW2 item but it's nice!

I would agree that it is CLOSE, but no balloon....not WWII spec. It is a really NICE one to mount on the jeep if it fits OK until you have something you like better. I think this is what you would have wanted in a COLLINS:

hi guys thanks for the replies but it's hard to find anything decent over here in the UK as everything either been snapped up or scrapped off, as I was reading the replies a little song came into my head which sums it up!!

Forget Meat Loaf Dave..i have a spare Evansville USA Number 4 axe head only thats going for grabs mate...i dont want the earth for it.....if its any use to you....needs a bit of tidying (no great gouges chips dents or the like) if you can get a handle for it mate we can work something out.

Hi Lloyd, thanks for the offer but I think I'm really happy with this one as its a really nice axe and fits really well, I have a Mann edge axe as well so I wouldn't want to deprive anyone??
