BEST M-201, W.O.F. REFERENCE BOOK BY FAR

Post by Joe Gopan » Sat Jan 23, 2010 5:49 am

I have had the "M201 The story of the Hotchkiss M201 and the French Jeep" by Pat Ware for 10 years and enjoy reading it from time to time to refresh my memories od importing W.O.F. part and bodies 35+ years ago. The book is dynamite and loaded with detailed pics and explanations of the differences between the W.O.F and Willys.
The detailed photos are actually a help to those who are restoring Willys MB's as the two Jeeps are similar in so many ways.

Check the MV bookstores in England, it is published there and should be real easy to find. Try Ebay. Pat Ware is very popular, all of his books are great.

I agree it's a good book and has a lot of interesting information.

The only significant 'error' I noticed in my copy is that, although Pat correctly refers in the text to the M201 gearbox being a T84, the cross-sectional picture on p68 looks like it's a T90.

And the T-90 was not used.

Yes it is a worthy addition to serious jeep enthusiasts' bookshelf. You may want to try Jeepworld UK (Mark Askew) His website did list them as a clearance item a few months ago and he may have a few left.
