Modern Day MB Engine Oil Filter Part Number

Post by Leatherneck17 » Sat May 06, 2006 11:01 am

Guys need a quick cross reference here please....CONNIE has done 300 miles now since resto and now need to drop the engine oil and refresh with new.
We have a major car part supplier just opened a superstore in our town this weekend and was wondering if there is a modern day cross reference / pattern equivalent so i could do the job tomorrow.

Thanks for the input guys and hope you all have a good weekend

Regards

:D Hi Lloyd , a mate of mine runs a Small Auto shop and I get a good quality (Millers/ Shell /Duckhams etc ) oil designed for older engines from him .... modern oils are a LOT better than in the old days. Give me a ring if you need a CODE !! for the millers oil that i use in my hotchkiss . :D

Hi Lloyd,
Here are 2 oil filters; Wix 51100 and Napa 1100.

Don't know if you can get them there, but may cross reference for you.
Good luck,
Ben

:D Magnatec.... :D sounds like you have a good brand in Connie already , as to filters :?: thought that only one type of filter fitted the Jeep ... may be worth your while giving Tony Sudds a ring and pick his brain .. :D did you rebuild the engine :?: 300 miles is nothing on a moder engine oil , 10,000 miles the norm for a older car , lets say 5,000 in a jeep before changing oils... your too kind to her 8) , does she got to bed in a duvet

Lloyd,
Here in the states there were thousands of surplus, go-devil engines sold to: fork lift companies used in warehouses and docks, air compressor companies for construction, farmers, to be used to power pumps irrigation, pesticide pumps any time asomewone needed a power source in the field.

Don't know if many found their way to England. You might try farm supply dealers if you can not locate any.

Best wishes,

Semper Fi,
Ben

PS Need to post updates on my website to show engine compartment up-grades

The Military Junior cartridge is what fits, the Military senior is too long. Here's a couple numbers.

Don't worry about all these other numbers & brands. Buy it from Ron and be done with it. Works fine.

Ben Dover
Thank you very much.

dinof
I am buying filters from RFJP and importing together with other parts to the Country of Georgia.
Outside US it is sometimes practicable to have those numbers as Ron does not has branches worldwide yet. Members here are assisting G enthusiasts worldwide. That’s what I like in the forum. I am trying to contribute my 2 cents in turn.
