Bolt identification help wanted

Post by Granville » Wed Mar 21, 2018 12:23 pm

I am doing some work on my jeep and have a selection of bolts that have been used. Can anyone tell me what they are? Think some are modern, just curious, there are plenty of f script but even with my limited knowledge I worked that one out.

Hi mate,

I`m no expert but i`ll ad from what I`ve seen over the years. I dont profess to say what is right and wrong, but thought a starting answer was better than no answer at all.

I think you are in the UK and I`m on Australia, so there might be some substance in the possibilities of original/used.

#1. I have seen A40 bolts, but cant remember where on jeeps.
#2- similar to a GPW recessed head bolt, but not the same. Not seen these ones before.
#3- i`d go with modern, especially with the 3 ticks for a hardness marking.
#4- not seen before
#5- not seen before
#6- an EC bolt off a Willys MB or GMC truck (CCKW etc) or possibly a few other vehicles.

Cheers,
Ian.

+1 on Ian's comments.

FYI...I'd be happy to take the EC bolt off your hands if you don't want it.
