GPW versus MB throttle gas pedal

Post by wynnski » Mon Mar 19, 2018 1:08 pm

Hello..picking your brains again
I have an MB throttle pedal on my GPW and would like to put an old GPW pedal on but.....the MB has a steel ball and socket arrangement for the push rod and the GPW has a rubber ball and socket. The only problem I have is that all of the F script pedals out there all seem to be missing the rubber socket so they will not work properly. I know the repro pedals are good but I would like to put an old one on. I have also been told the GPW pedal changed over to the MB type but I do not know when.
Is the rubber socket still available and is it applicable to an April 43 GPW?

Either way, don't forget the little spring plate around the clevis pin between the floor & pedal. Nearly always missing.

Thank you Chuck, I have just checked with them and they do not sell it separately.

TRY THIS:
The M-38 has a similar rubber socket listed as WO 801854 CONNECTOR, Accelerator Cross shaft that mounts on the lever between the firewall and engine. It has a 10-24 threaded stud attached to it which will all the 801854 connector (Rubber Socket) to be fixed to the pedal in a similar manner as GPW. The ball on the linkages of the two Jeeps are the same size.
I thought there was a socket and rivet kit at one time. You can grind the excess length of the stud off.

Oh yes so it does, found a picture on another site. I could probably substitute the screw for the correct size rivet anyway.
Good call, thank you.
