Is this a correct place for a first aid kit in a 1942 GPW ?

I was told that the bracket & first aid kit went behind the dashboard

Hi no the kit is mounted the other side you should see the screws ,, from in side the jeep all the best colin

Thank you! , the thing is that could it is not posible to fit it due to the radio filterette behind the dash board !

I was under the impression early jeeps if assigned a first aid kit it was stowed under the passenger seat

Right place, wrong side. It should be behind the dashboard, but the holes for the bracket seem to be placed correctly, so no extra drilling. But would a 42 GPW have a first aid kit fitted ? :o

I did'nt know that it was fit in 1944 , mine is a 1942 GPW . It is clear !

My gpw 42 doesn't have the predrilled holes for the bracket so I am fitting it on the transmission tunnel between the seats. That way it would have been accessible to all, driver and passengers. Also that way it's visible and look cool.
