@Rod,

While enhancing the drawings from THF, I've seen that the Early Carburetor horn model has likely never been F-Marked.
In fact only the late model has been F-Marked as per the drawing.
Early model with the hole :

It's a bit strange to have a drawing revision dated from 4/10/1941 for a drawing declared obsolete ... the day before :?: !

Yves:

I am not at all familiar with Ford jeeps, drawings, or engineering and/or record keeping policies and practices. But perhaps Ford wanted an accurate, up-to-date record of a part that had just been taken out of production in April 1941. And the fact that today, nearly 77 years later, you have access to the engineering drawing for that obsolete part (rather than only the drawing for the successor part GPW-9623) strongly suggests to me that Ford may have had that objective in mind when it revised its engineering drawing GPW-9627 that day after that part had been declared obsolete.

Hi Fred,
You are likely right.
In the revision list top right, "obs" is written by hand in front of the last revision.
It's likely some kind of validation/approval process to maintain the central drawing file up to date.

BTW, the last revision dates are in fact in 1942 and not in 41 on that drawing. My mistake

I believe the 4/10/42 notation at the top right corner which might be "L10" is Ford lingo for "obsolete". I have seen the handwritten "obs" as seen next to it before on other Ford drawings as you have stated.

The handwritten notation of 4/9/42 is not "official".

The L10 seems to be a reference to a dept number or perhaps a location number.
Drawings for the Ford GP are referenced with K10 and a few drawings have references ENG.INF starting with K10 and continuing with L10 when the parts were used first in GP then in GPW.
Ford GPA drawings are referenced with L19.
I've remarked also few handwritten dates on drawings in European format :)!
