You could make something that would do the same job using a short bolt and one of the threaded couplings you can find wherever all thread rod is sold.

Looks Like a machinist jack, Production Tool or Graingers will have them.

Why not hit up a machinist who runs a job shop?

That looks about an hour's work on a lathe for a journeyman. Made to the specs you provide.
God gave you a soul.
Your parents, a body.
Your country, a rifle.

Keep all of them clean.

Thanks Jeff,,I actually have the jack from Big flats however you can only
use it if there are no rivets on the opposite frame channel there is no way to obtain clearance for a rivet head
but I will need some parts off of it so,,yes thanks for the info!

Did you cut the channel in the bucking block (underside) per the plans?

Mine works on the front, both sides and pretty much everywhere else on the frame.

yes The bucking block is per drawing,,,however I'm finiding that like any tool
it needs a few tweaks,,the edges need to be radiused and the groove needs to be wider to accomodate rivet heads that may be offset
just a little etc,,,mine is not fitting in one side of my rails,,by just a smidge,,, so I'm going to go with an alternate method for the upper gusset rivets

How off is it? I had a little clearance problem with mine, but I solved it with a little hit from a sanding disk or a file.

I would spend 15 minutes with the tool and make it work. Those posts do not work well - I tried them, made one and that is why I wanted something more substantial.

1/32" or so,,yes I could (and may use the sander on it) but another thing i am finding that in about
50% of my test pieces the rivet head ends up being tilted just a hair,,it drives me nuts,,
when I tighten the bucking block down I have no idea if the head is straight or not,,
I think the holes being a bit larger diameter than they should be has something to do with it
but these holes are factory drilled,,I dont know why they made them so big for a 3/8 rivet

anyway I used the rivet jack and I kinda like it,,I can verify the head is tight however the profile of the
"cup" holding the head is not for a true round head rivet,,and it makes a small depression on the head,,
I dont know,,just working through some issues,,its typical metal work,.

The holes are big because the riveting process fills them up - part of the benefit.

1. I had to grind on the "cup" to make it work correctly and then I did not finish it perfectly. Every rivet has marks on the head, but as they are on the inside of the frame, I did not see it mattering any.

2. You could try and lightly lubricate the cup, which should help the rivets push flush on the inside.

3. I cranked down the buck pretty hard when I did mine. Maybe one out of the 8 front gusset rivets ended up with one edge slightly raised.

well the holes are NOT supposed to be over .400" for a darn 3/8ths rivet
I dont have my chart right now but thats too big,,the rivet bucktail has a tendency to tip
or "toenail" if the hole is too big,,just gotta make extra sure a guy is straight with the rivet gun
and go for it,,its why I have a bunch of practice pieces all over the place,,I only get 1 shot at this
as these gussets are NOS,,and I ruined a 75 dollar rear cross-member because I slipped with the bucking tool
as i was holding it by hand.

I free handed all the rivets on the cross-member
