Looking for original 12v seelite headlights

Post by Peterdodge6volt » Wed May 24, 2017 1:49 pm

Hi guys
I am having so much trouble trying to get a set of original 12v seelite headlight with the bulbs in it.
I am sorry as I don't like sealbeam. I wanted to keep my jeep and dodge original.
My dodge one is not going to last long as the bulb is black, the jeep is all fine as I haven't used the headlights yet.
I have to many spare 6v sealbeam and a couple of 6v seelite headlight, which I am not going to use I do not want to pull them apart.
Any chance please anyone can sell original 12v seelite or happy for trade.

Thanks
Cheers Peter

Have you tried this, it is worth a go, I would. A jewelry repair man should be able to do it quite easily, they have the type of tools.

Hi wynnski
Yes I done this more than 20 times for myself and other G members. But I ran out of 12v special bulb for seelite
I had a NOS box filled with 6v and 12v bulbs replacement for seelite, the bulb are the exact same base as the seelite bulbs.

We don't like the one they done on their seelite you post me as he use P45t ( h4 ) bulbs with the low beam plate in the bulb, which if you turn on the headlight the low beam showing half reflector on top, not the whole reflectors, I done this for other G member but they told me the reenactment didn't like it as it was showin half reflectors.

Thanks for you help. But looking for complete 1x 12v seelite.

Have you seen these, not mine but I might buy a pair to see how good they are.

Yes I seen this repro one and other repro seelite, they are good and bright but don't last long. This was the forth time we change the repro seelite on my brother in law jeep as they don't last long, his only got 1 headlight and 2 black out drive 1 on mudguard and 1 on right side headlight bucket, , it only last long about 4 months than the original seelite that last longer.

Original seelite bulbs VS repro seelite bulbs.

Thanks for your help.

"GE 4431" (12 volt) or the same number by other manufactures appears to be a good substitute. This is also listed as a military headlight in some places. I checked NAPA yesterday (01/31/2020) and they could order it for me for $23.95 (US). All the info I could get makes it appear to fit directly into the Jeep headlight bucket. Jim
