Hi decided to make my own felt wind deflectors can anyone tell me the correct length do the side ones extend below the level of the metal fan shroud or stop level. Looks like they could run past and be closer to the chassis cross member tube and direct a little more air?

Your lengths look fine, I do have to comment on the quality of all the repros out there; None of them are even close to the look and material of the original ones. The repros are made from fine, thin hair and are highly pressed smooth felt of some sort. The originals are made from very coarse hair, maybe horse or pig, and are not pressed into a nice tight material at all. And they are brown. i make them from an old Italian army blanket which is made from the cheapest coarsest hair and looks like the original stuff.
