Gloss or satin finish on black GPW engine parts

Post by gpwmke » Sat Mar 19, 2016 8:56 am

What is preferred finish on the black painted parts on a factory GPW engine. Looking for correct finish on air cleaner cross over tube, oil filter and bracket, starter, generator etc. as I put my engine back together. Was the GPW oil pan painted black like the GP or grey like the rest of engine? Best wishes; Leo

Leo the oil pan was Gray like the engine on the GPW. Jeep Draw covers all of the other parts that you question on color.

The last paint I bought for these parts was from Ace Hardware. Flat black satin. I thought it looked pretty good.
