Coil d washer position

Post by jkillelea » Mon Jan 18, 2016 1:24 pm

Does anybody have the correct positioning of the coil d washers/star washers/and bond strap? I've seen various layouts. Also, did Feb 42 and Aug 42 GPW's use two "D" washers or just one? Thanks.

Here's the GPW and the MB layout of the D-Washers. Both photos are of crated engines....

This is what I have on the Parts_Colours Page.......

For both WILLYS and FORD, D Washers are not listed until TYPE 2 Suppression was used...

FORD
1. Ford D's are "F" Stamped.
2. NOS "F" marked D's are plain.
3. SNL ORD 9 G-503 lists only ONE of them.....plain, S, black enamelled.

WILLYS.
1. As evidenced by factory engine... Black enamelled.
2. Quantity (At least by Willys) is TWO.

Hi Jon,
Thanks so much for getting back to me.
So, with my August 42 GPW do I have Type 1 suppression or Type 2? I believe Type 1 (?)
This jeep had one F marked d washer on when I got it.
Also, the engine didn't have the coil with the ground post, but I have one so I'm putting it on.
