Wrong Gauges on ebay

Post by Chuck Lutz » Fri Feb 27, 2015 9:19 am

Wow...if you looked for "GPW MB" on ebay anytime recently you were barraged with listing after listing from "apexmeter221" over in India.
They list a dozen or more gauges/gauge sets as "gpw/mb" and then come back the next day and do the whole listing again.....you have to wade through garbage products after garbage products to find any gems that might have been listed by someone who knows sh*t from Shinola. Hopefully those new guys on the gee have been warned off and have learned to SEARCH on the gee before buying stuff....

I think I have to go see if I can effectively use ebay to NOT show me ANYTHING by that vendor. That would clean up the search by half I think!

It might be different if the gauges looked even CLOSE....but they don't and wouldn't pass the 10 foot test (just look at 'em from 10 feet away and you can tell they are terrible reproductions!).

Who knows if they even WORK properly!

Reproductions ????
The guy that saw the originals must either be blind or partial sighted or a have a vivid imagination to what he did see !!!!!!
And Ten feet ??? you are being kind Chuck lol
You can put all these type of listings down to eBay with their free listing offer.
I`m sure they`d soon disappear if they had to pay.
Same with all the vastly exaggerated costs of repro stuff too
Lug nuts at $15 or more a pop !!!!
Are they compatible with a space shuttle or something from another planet ????
And the option of deleting some sellers offerings would be a great advantage too
I`m all for that one

This stuff from India annoys me no end when searching eBay, even if I click "Australia only" on the search it still appears, It would be a lot better if eBay returned to being a true auction site rather than an online store otherwise it will eventually crash & burn.

Chuck, try "refine your search" under the query, go to the seller tab, and select "only show items from" - choose to exclude this seller. It works, and with the junk this one is peddling, well worth the time!

I can't tell you how annoyed I am lately searching for parts on eBay! I'm with you guys...I'm tired of seeing this cheap crap cluttering up my screen. What's actually amazing though is that people are buying from this seller. Some are realizing too late that they get what they pay for.

This one was hilarious, with the copyright mark from Ron's website printed right on the rotary switch plate. Unbelievable
