Number plate of a GPW.

Post by malucho » Tue Feb 24, 2015 7:19 am

Hello,
A friend of mine has also, as me, a Ford GPW. He is finishing the restoration of the car, which is, by the way, a 1942 early car, chassis number GPW 42.676.
As he is, as me, very fond of fidelity about the deco aspects of the restoration, he would like to know an aproximation, as close as possible, of the number plate it would display in its bonet while at the war time.
Nice to know also about the factory and the day of production.
Surely any of you GPW experts would be so kind to help us ?
Thanks a lot.
José.

A photo of the complete frame serial number stamping would be needed to answer your questions.
