I use the 153-5690 it is classified as low maintenance. I have been getting a minimum of 7 years out of them and will anticipate 10+ using my Genius Smart Charger, during winter storage.

Can your charger tell when spring will be. If so please let me know cause I am tired of being cold! Supposed to be 8 deg in the morning and this is the South!

No, it cannot predict Spring, wish it could. Hopefully subzero weather will be a memory in the next 10 days, I can't wait to swat mosquitos and mow grass.

Ben, with the weather lately, you better get an electric battery warming blanket for your jeep, too! Or you could move to SoCal and soak up the 70* weather!

Seven years life out of a lead acid battery is outstanding. I have never gotten that kind of life out of a battery. In general, 3 to 4 years is the most I have gotten and I keep my batteries charged with the Harbor Freight battery tender. They seem to work fine and they certainly keep the battery charged and they do not boil out the water/acid solution.

MPG, If you cannot find a Cat battery locally, Interstate and Deka make good Group 2 batteries. There is a CAT dealership off the 605, though.

MB was parked in my garage after the Veterans Day Parade, Took it out of storage today, (April 15th)had it going in 10 seconds with no tricks or starting aids, the Cat Battery is in its 10th year and have used a NOKO Genius 3600 on it for past three years. Prior to the NOKO Genius I used no charging devices and averaged at best 7 years on the Cat Batteries.

A good feature of the Noko Genius chargers I have noticed is not only does this product do its job, there is no issue with the batteries bubbling over during the off season while these are connected to the 6 Volt and 24 Volt Jeeps I have.
