That is your air cleaner side horn and should be a hole in the middle for the bolt. :)

NOPE. It is the carb horn. The air cleaner one has the same reinforcement with a hole...viewtopic.php?f=95&t=287995&start=90

I may be wrong but I thought the carb horn had an un drilled/stamped hole in the plate.

I'm not sure if the very early ones did or not. I always assumed that the ones you see here were extra pancake horns that were adapted for use after the appropriate cleaners ran out. "Weld that hole, waste not, want not" attitude at Ford.

It does have an non drilled stamped hole in the plate. Maybe I do not understand what you mean. I will post a picture of the inside and a closer outside picture.

Pictures. It is not a filled in hole. It is clearly embossed with a round punch.

Got a couple of gauges done. Here is one. Have to do some touch up on the O.D. part.

I just noticed my dirty hand. See the burn from the threaded bolt from the back of the gauge. I had to add one and it of course got hot. OUCH.  :o :o

Interesting, I've been looking for one with a unmarked disk but it appears I may have been passing off the correct part. They must have made a mark as a guide to drill a hole as required. Now I know what to look for I will be sharper eyed. Thanks.

Im sure that part went on top of the pancake air filter, held on by a wing nut, (slat grille).
